Dying for some sun and with spring break on my hands, I furiously graded a stack of papers and put myself on a plane to Mexico City. I had heard much about it... And I was underwhelmed. I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but whatever it was, it didn't materialize. Of course "DF" (District Federal, as the capital is known) is a sprawling mass. But as with other megalopolises, I expected to find the "cool" neighborhoods, buildings, museums, and monuments and be amazed. It was not to be, and it didn't help that the guide book I had sucked.
Despite my lack of success, I held out hope, and while I never did find that "cool" neighborhood, I had a lot of fun taking pictures of people. It was Easter break, after all. Everyone was out and about, particularly on the roads out of town (the traffic!), or seemingly following me to Teotihuacan, the pyramids north of the city.
Nothing like a little shopping at the pyramids, eh?
